Spring Forward

It's about that time of year: it's still freezing outside and I'm completely over my winter wardrobe. But, instead of buying more sweaters to rekindle some sartorial inspiration, I feel more inclined to look forward to Spring and start building out cute outfits for my future, warmer self. Below, a few looks that are getting the inspirational wheels turning. Apparently I'm drawn to this season's peachy tones...

1/ Whit jumpsuit.
2/ Banana Republic.
3/ Terhi Polkki oxfords.
4/ Etoile Isabel Marant shorts.
5/ Karen Walker.

Our Seasonal Table

Had a lovely time collaborating with Beth Galton and AJ Battifarano again on a couple Our Seasonal Table posts a couple weeks ago. If anyone has been wanting to put together a Shepard's Pie to enjoy while the winter is still cold and snowy, this is the recipe to try. So. Good. Also, make the rosemary sea salt. It's super easy and makes pretty much everything better. So far I've put it on olive oily croutons for curried carrot soup, oven fries and seared steak, and roasted thyme butternut squash with rice pilaf. The possibilities are endless.

New Norm

New Norm is some of the most gorgeous dinnerware I have seen in a long time. The hues, the textures, everything so dreamy. What a disappointment that they don't ship outside of Denmark! Maybe it's good... because I would buy all of it if I could.

Black and White and Green

Some recent pins. Been really feeling this color scheme lately.

1/ Future dream shower. And pretty, newly discovered tumblr.
2/ Just. Love. This. Applause Kendra Smoot, and whoever your stylist was.
3/ Can't wait for dress season again. Also, a lesson in how to make Birkenstocks look chic.
4/ See above. Been doing some serious California dreaming lately. This patio looks like heaven.
5/ Wily plant life, my favorite kind.
6/ Just got my hair cut last week; it's perfectly layered to pull off a pony like this one.
7/ I can't read what this recipe says. But, I get the gist: beautiful and delicious.
8/ From the gorgeous and inspiring Tine K Home catalog.

Howdy folks!
A few photos, links, and things happening over in my world lately. Enjoy!

Some behind-the-scenes photos of a test shoot from a couple weeks ago. Final images are up on my portfolio site.

Has anyone seen this? Snow diving foxes.

And, a couple recipes I'm cooking and getting inspired by:

Smoky Beetroot Hummus from The Year In Food.
Always looking for new things to do with beets and this was delicious. Sometimes, it's hard to know what to do with spreads like these instead of just crudites and pita chips but I had some good combos. In the morning, on toasted sourdough with camembert, a hard boiled egg cut into wedges and plenty of cracked pepper. For lunch, spread onto a multigrain toast, topped with a handful of pea shoots and a juicy salt and pepper turkey patty as an open faced healthy-ish burger. Or, again, toast (Any toast really. Yea, I love toast.) with shaved manchego and this pea shoot, alfalfa sprout, and celery salad piled on top. Good stuff.

Tom Kha Gai from Bon Appetit.
I also made this recently and it was SO good. I still have some left over Thanksgiving turkey meat in the freezer, so I used that instead of chicken, homemade turkey stock and I added chilies and udon noodles. Simultaneously deeply satisfying and healthfully light in a way that only soup can be. Love soup.

I couldn't resist sharing these snaps of my boy cat, Egon. Secret's out- I'm a cat lady. But, I swear I'm not a crazy one (I swear!). Just thought these were goofy and endearing enough that someone else might get a kick out of them too.
