Just a Few Portland Photos...

Guys, I work in photography, but I am not a photographer. As evidenced by my terrible skills at documenting my trips. Ha! I get too caught up in the moment to remember to take memory preserving snaps or blog worthy shots of foods and places. I had such an awesome trip! I ate at Ox, Pok Pok, Sen Yai, and The Woodsman Tavern, drank coffee at Stumptown, went to the beach and visited farm stands on Sauvie Island. We trekked the hip neighborhoods and their shops, drove up to Mt.Tabor at sunset, and explored Laurelhurst Park. I did so much more than is documented below, but I cobbled together these few images to at least share some visual representation of a trip I really enjoyed.

1/ Cool kids and cool ice cream. // Some of the very many doughnuts that were consumed.
2/ See See motorcycle and coffee shop.
3/ Morning Stumptown decaf latte. // Loved driving these fun, zippy smart cars around town!
4/ City of roses.

Some Favorites In Portland

I love Portland, OR so when the opportunity to work on a local cookbook project presented itself I was psyched. My best friend lives there, I'd been to visit a few times, and I knew it was going to be a really fun time. I stayed two weeks, plenty of time to explore and get to know the city even better. Below is a list of some favorite spots from the trip. Please share your own favorites! I know I'll be back soon and I'd love to check them out.

BEAM & ANCHOR
So many beautiful handmade things here that it feels impossible to choose between them. The place to go to make your home a much lovelier place or, at least, to get a very healthy dose of inspiration. Large range of items including furniture, ceramics, jewelry, pocket knives, kitchenware, and apothecary.

GRAND MARKETPLACE
Great vendors and vintage selection, good turnover, and super friendly staff. Fell pretty hard for a piece of eco-harvested coral, but didn't end up taking it home. Sigh.
1005 SE Grand Ave
Portland, OR 97214

BLUE STAR DONUTS
Fantastic, fresh doughnuts made with quality local ingredients. The buttermilk old fashioned is one of the best doughnuts I've ever tasted.

Portland, OR 97205

PORTLAND FARMERS MARKET at PSU
I finally got to visit the flagship market, Portland's Union Square equivalent, on this trip. It did not disappoint. It's huge! And there is so much variety! Tons of produce, of course, and artichokes, locally cured meats, locally grown hazelnuts and teas and wild rice. Amazing flowers. Whole tuna fishes (for very affordable prices). So cool. On Saturday mornings.
SW Park Ave & SW Montgomery St
Portland, OR 97201

PASTAWORKS
If I lived in Portland I would shop here all of the time. I'd do the bulk of my grocery shopping at the farmers market and then come here to fill in the gaps. It's so well curated, with the perfect mix of everyday and gourmet items: inspiring coffees and teas, oils, condiments, spices, meats, baked goods. And, bonus, it's connected to a Powell's book shop with a killer cookbook section.

Portland, OR 97214

ALDER & CO.
I always stop by here when I'm in Portland and never leave empty handed. I always find new things that I've never seen anywhere else. They have a really nice, interesting, and varied selection of tabletop, linens, flowers, bath products, stationary, and more.

KURE JUICE BAR
Delicious, fresh pressed organic juices that kept me feeling healthy and energized all the work week long.

New Work: Hamptons Home

Sometimes I get to do really cool things for my job. Like for instance when I spent a few days in the Hamptons recently styling this amazing, extra large home. It was such a lovely environment to hang out in all day, fluffing beds, arranging flowers, enjoying the sunshine and salty breezes, making pretty. Work that barely feels like work. Here are some of my favorite images of the space. Interior design by Allison Garcy and photography by Ryan Dausch.

Some Recent Pins: Black and White and Blue and Blush

I love looking at my most recent pins all together, they always summarize and show me how I must subconsciously be feeling at the moment. And though I love Pinterest for putting all of these inspiring images in one place, I don't love when I can't find the source for something. The first image is from Design Sponge - A Day in the Life of Stella Maria Baer, and all of the others have seemingly gotten disconnected from their identities through countless Tumblr reposts. I wish I knew where they came from, but inspiring nonetheless.
